Rooted in his love of all animals, Erik developed a strong interest in paleontology in college. He aims to help educate others about prehistoric life though short hand-drawn animations, and eventually documentary-style video essays that explore the relationships between different branches on the tree of life.
Erik and fellow photographer, Anthony, attempt to hike around the the grand and snow-capped Mont Blanc, in the Alps. You can watch their progress on their Youtube channel: Night Owl Productions.
While this hike served as a personal test of endurance and fitness, its greater appeal lay in the incredible views and memories that Erik and Anthony were priveledged to experience. Sleeping next to herds of ibex, forging friendships with countless people from around the world, and resting in the shadow of tallest mountain in western Europe... This was truly the journey of a lifetime.
Erik and his colleague showcase an innovative drone detection device developed by Ian Annase, founder of Zing Drone Solutions. Able to locate the drone operator of any drone within it's detection radius, Z-Scan is a valuable tool that prisons can utilize to improve their security.
The video highlights how prison staff react to watching a Z-Scan demonstration in their facility in Pendleton, Oregon.
When working on the musical beat in this spec ad, Erik focused on using textural sound effects (i.e., grinding rock, metal clinks). He placed a large emphasis on building up the intesnity of the the sound design in order to have an inpactful moment of silence while the rock climber is breathing
Explore the beautiful Harbour Ridge property with its stunning oceanfront views. Interior designer Tracie Annase shows how she brought this hidden gem to life through intentional furniture and design choices. This luxurious property offers the perfect retreat for those seeking a peaceful getaway, and we highlighted how Select Design Center can help you make the most of your investment as well.
Aside from filmmaking and editing, Erik's absolute greatest passion in life is nature photography. He spends nearly all of his free time outside, exploring the wilderness and looking for animals. He is inseparable from his camera, and his recent trip to the Everglades was no exception. Over the years, he’s amassed a dizzying amount of nature footage, but on this trip specifically, he started building a narrative in his head while he was filming. This led him to create his first documentary, shot, written, and edited entirely by him. He can’t wait to make more.
